Over 30 years ago, my parents, Nicos and Nike Tseperis began manufacturing martyika cross witness pins for the Greek Orthodox wholesale community. At the time, my father converted a 100-year-old manual stamping press to an electrical press. My parents were proud to be making these special pins that would be used to witness baby’s baptisms and be kept as a keepsake by their friends and family members for years to come.
I remember the day when we registered our company and we were trying to come up with a business name. I suggested, “Crosses Plus…. because we sell crosses and one day we will sell plus!”
Now, over 1,000,000 crosses later, we are still honoring my parents’ legacy and producing witness pins as we feel tradition is of the utmost importance. Our pins not only serve as witness pins, but are also used by all Christian faiths, since of course, the cross is the most well-known of all Christian symbols.
The “Plus” came soon after when we introduced many high-quality products.
